So, Ronals Weinland, a Pastor 25 years deep in the Church of God is prophecising that mankind will finally begin killing itself off in massive quantites in 2008. I'm generally skeptical about this sort of thing but, honestly, the world has been unwraveling for quite a while now. Mr. Weinland claims to be a Prophet, having written 2 books, each diving deep into not only what he says God has told him to share with the people, but also referencing actual scripture.
Again, I'd like to go on record stating that this isn't my sort of thing to believe in... I just find it intriguing. This guy is so confident that he is a messenger of the Lord that he sells his books for FREE.. and openly states that if the day that marks the beginning of the end (I'll give you this date in a minute) comes and goes with nothing significant actually happening, that he must be a false prophet, and apologizes for wasting our time. So, I thought that was honerable at least.
Weinland states that on this mystery date, mass destruction, primarily in the USA, will take place... killing tens, maybe even hundreds of millions of people throughout North America. This will be the first day of an approximate 3-1/2 year journey to the Rapture. It's approximate because, obviously, no man will know the time of Jesus' return.
Now, what I find Interesting.. is that this man prophecises these events to last approximately 3-1/2 years. I have been convinced for a very long time that December 21, 2012 is going to be a very, very bad day for everyone that calls this planet home. For those of you who aren't familiar with this date, several civilizations from Central America to Eastern Asia, even parts of Europe, all living thousands of miles apart, thousands of years apart... having no communication with one another, all ended their calendars on this date.
I know, it sounds far-fetched.. but this date just so happens to be astronomically significant according to NASA. Around about the winter solstice in 2012, the Earth is going to cross the galactic equator. Big deal, right? Wrong.. What happens on opposite sides of the equator here on earth? Water flushes in opposite rotation in correlation to the earths rotation. Well, the Milky Way Galaxy is rotating a whole lot faster than Earth.
I have been predicting for years that once we cross that equator, the molten iron core of the earth is going to start spinning the opposite direction. Not immediately, obviously... I'm actually pretty sure it's already started slowing down.. The swift rotation of Earth's core is responsible for its magnetic field, which shields us from a bombardment of the sun's radiation. Without this, global temperatures would rise, causing climate shifts, melting ice caps... Oh, wait... this is already happening. I'm sorry, but there is no way that man-kind has so terribly polluted the Earth in the last 50 years that the atmosphere is now permenantly damaged & our climate is changing. Global warming isn't because of mans wasteful ways.. it's because of science.
Anyway... Once that iron core loses its momentum & wants to start spinning the opposite direction, our magnetic field will be completely gone. That is, until it picks up enough speed in the opposite direction to re-generate... Which could take hundreds, or thousands of years. No land-dwelling creature is going to survive the absense of a magnetic field. Sorry, humans... our time is running out.
What sucks the most about all of mankind dying off... is we won't get to see the next step in this crazy series of events. With the iron core spinning the opposite direction, it's going to create a tremendous amount of drag on the earth itself... eventually slowing it to a crawl... stopping its rotation, and eventually causing the earth to spin in the opposite direction. This will, of course, take thousands of years to happen, but I just think it would be cool to see.
