OpenSearch plugins allow websites and search engines to publish search results in an easy-to-use format.  They're most commonly used for the quick search bars in web browsers like Internet Explorer and Firefox, among others.

To install in Firefox, place the xml file in the searchplugins folder of your Firefox Settings (often in /Documents and Settings/Your User Name/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox on Windows XP), and then restart your browser.
